First off, if you have not read the first two books in this series, go do that, NOW! You will not regret it!
I can't believe this series is over! Well... this part of the series (you will understand after watching the video interview *mischievous grin*). I have really grown attached to all the characters in this series and it was really sad to see them go :) Return to Eden started off right away with the Soulkeepers facing some new problems, such as Dane being trapped in Hell. They need to find the other Soulkeepers in order to sort of trick Lucifer into freeing Dane. Anyway, I really liked the progression of the story. I felt like the pacing was great when following the journey of Malini and Jacob and the others. One of my favorite parts of Return to Eden were the parts where Mara was featured. I was completely devastated when she died in Weaving Destiny, and I absolutely love the story that G.P. created for her in Return to Eden. I wasn't expecting Mara to be featured at all, which was a great surprise, and then the twists that got thrown into Mara's story were completely and even more unexpected. Seriously, I think the parts with Mara had me most enthralled, especially when things happened that I did NOT see coming.
My few complaints about Return to Eden are that i feel it could have been expanded a little more. The parts where the Soulkeepers went out searching for the remaining Soulkeepers felt a bit rushed to me, and i would have loved to see more expansion on those scenes, though what we did see was pretty cool. Also, the ending really felt rushed to me. The battle wasn't as action-packed as expected, even though it did leave me with a satisfied feeling. I just wished maybe another chapter or so had been included to maybe increase the suspense of the battle. Anyway, besides that, I was very satisfied with the rest of the ending, and it was so sad! It was just another one of those moments where a few tears came to my eyes...
I absolutely love the characters, once again. Malini still remains one of my favorites, just because i can totally picture us being friends in real life. i love the relationship between her and Jacob and how real it feels. I loved the edition of the new Soulkeepers, and i totally would have loved to get to know them better. My favorite part about Return to Eden, as i kind of said earlier, was Mara and her story, and also Abigail and her story. Mara is awesome and I loved her character, and i felt for her when everything that happens in the book happens to her. I won't tell you what happens, but trust me. You will probably cry. Abigail is also a great character, and she has changed so much throughout the series, and i seriously got scared about what she was going to do in Return to Eden.
Overall, I think Return to Eden was a pretty satisfying end to the trilogy, and I definitely can't wait to see what happens in the future Soulkeepers books (see interview video below :) I hope there is more Mara ;) And I hope we get to see more of the other old characters too! So, I guess the waiting for the fourth begins right about.... NOW.
So, here is the question I asked, answered by Ms. Ching herself!
So, if you couldn't tell already, I am super excited for future Soulkeepers books, and I can not wait to find out more about the the Soulkeeper that is still missing by the end of Return to Eden.
